We've been creating the most environmentally sustainable printing company we know and we've been doing it since 1977. After first radically reducing our emissions, waste products, and energy consumption, we've now chosen to offset all our carbon dioxide emissions as well. We've joined the U.S. EPA's Climate Leaders Program, which requires strict annual reporting of emissions from transportation (employee commutes included), manufacturing, heating, trash, and other sources of CO2 release. Then we are systematically purchasing renewable energy credits, and investing in projects that directly remove carbon from the atmosphere like planting trees, ensuring that our net climate impact is zero.

Our electricity has been purchased from an area wind farm since January, 2003. So, we have had zero emissions from electricity for some time. We were the first to sign on to 100% wind in the mid-Atlantic area. We hope to inspire more companies to make commitments to renewable energy sources, and to join the fight against global warming by going carbon neutral.
